Name: The Phoncurves.
Brief Blurb: The Phoncurves are Abbie Roberts and Naomi Burrell, who met while studying together at uni. After forming a fast friendship, they quickly bonded over their shared passion, music, and slowly began to introduce their songs to each other. With frocks and locks; their performances are fun, intimate and honest and their self-produced music is a gorgeous exploration of their friendship, doubts and love (both lost and found).

The duo blend distinct new musical flavours with an aftertaste of pleasant nostalgia, toeing the line between alternative folk and indie pop, with their engaging eclectic style enhancing their incredibly catchy songs. Their use of gorgeous vocal harmonies has become a characteristic inherent in their music with the act sure to become a staple on Australia’s music scene.

Influences range across a wide array of genres, from early blues, jazz, country, doo-wop music, 60's pop and 70’s ambient music, through to modern day folk and acapella. The duo capture audiences with their unique fusion of melodies and harmonies and keep them with gorgeous songwriting.

After playing with acts such as Passenger, Paper Kites and Art Of Sleeping, The Phoncurves are well on their way to infiltrating the Brisbane music scene. The Phoncurves’ self-produced, self-mixed and self-titled debut EP is due out in early October 2012.
