Name: The Rosannas with Joe Cryle
Brief Blurb: The Rosannas are an acoustic group based in Melbourne, Australia. Highlighted by soulful tunes, poignant lyrics, and rich three-part harmonies, they combine elements of country, folk and roots-based music with a pop sensibility to create a style all their own. Formed in early 2009, the band’s core trio consists of American singer-songwriter Seth Plunkett, vocalist/percussionist Lori Corallo and drummer/vocalist Aidan Prewett. Additionally, they are frequently accompanied by pedal steel/dobro player Joe Cryle, son of renowned Brisbane musician Mark Cryle, and bassist Brad Wright.

2009 saw the band establishing themselves in Melbourne, playing a number of gigs at acoustic venues around Melbourne, and being featured at the Duke St. Festival in St. Kilda. The year culminated with the release of their debut EP, Big Plans, tracks of which have been played on 96.5 Inner FM’s Folk and Roots show. 2010 began with an inaugural trip to the Tamworth Country Music Festival, where the band captivated audiences on Peel St. and performed in the Battle of the Bands. More recently, they performed at the Homeless World’s Longest Lunch in St. Kilda.

As the year progresses, the band is hard at work with a new batch of songs that they are rehearsing in preparation for a series of mid-year gigs and the recording of a new EP at Black Dog studios in Brisbane. They are currently placing applications for other festivals later in the year.
