Name: Brian Brett and Robin Etter-Cleave
Brief Blurb: United They Stand – Canada and Ireland. Husband and wife team Canadian Robin Etter-Cleave and Belfastian Brian Brett have been “making beautiful music” together for over 22 years. With their band, Silken Thomas, they have played in the Irish music scene in and around Brisbane for a lot of that time. They are also part of The John Fegan Band who will be performing later this year at the BUG.

As seasoned performers, Brian and Robin enjoy playing just as a duo, as well, and have performed at many venues. With Brian on guitar and vocals and Robin on C flute, alto flute, penny whistles and vocals, they play folk and popular music of Ireland, Canada, Australia and England, including some sing-a-long songs, some lively toe-tapping ditties and some historical ballads all in a fun and light-hearted way. Along with Brian’s witticisms between songs, Robin’s fancy flute and penny whistle embellishments and the subtle blend of their voices, this duo is one not to be missed.

Oh, yes, and there might even be some non-Irish favourites thrown in, too.
