Brief Blurb: This Brisbane based band performs in various authentic 1920s golden age and contempory musical styles. Our musical influences come from traditional artists such as Yank Rachell, The Mississippi Sheiks, Tommy Johnson and The Memphis Jug Band. We are also inspired by modern musicians such as; Steve Earle, Steve James, Johnny Cash, Tom Waits, The Ten Cent Shooters and C.W. Stoneking. Instruments include; traditional and resonator guitar, 5 string banjo, double bass and vocals. Band Members

Mark Anderson aka Ruffcut Anderson : Multi-instrumentalist and vocalist. is a founding member of Brisbane bands Dirt Music and The Jook Joint Boys. Ruffcut formed Acoustic Union as a vehicle for the live performance of Americana acoustic music with like-minded supporting artists. Since its formation in 2009, Acoustic Union has performed in and around the Darling Downs and Toowoomba region at the Nobby Music Festival, The Stanthorpe Winery, The Boogie Shack and Strummers Folk Music Club and performances at various Brisbane venues such as; The Brisbane Convention Centre and The Black Bear lodge (formerly The Troubadour).

Mal Nebe: On double bass has been the engine room for many Brisbane bands and performers over the years crossing genres such as Bluegrass, Blues, Rockabilly and Gypsy Jazz. Mal was most notably the double bass player for The Backwoodstompers, The Muleskinners and Gypsy Jazz ensemble Bellville.
