Name: Jook Joint Boys
Brief Blurb: Based in Brisbane, this acoustic duo comprising Lil’ Son Gregory on guitar and vocals, and Tony (Ol' Deliverance) Von Wieldt on mandolin, lap steel and guitar, specialize in vintage Country Blues and Old Time mountain music, with a dash of Ragtime and Cajun thrown in for good measure. Performed on mainly resonator and vintage acoustic instruments, these boys deliver that ‘down home’ sound so typical of backcountry USA in the 1920’s and 30’s.

Lil’ Son is a guitarist and singer. His fingerpickin’ techniques and vocal styles deeply reflect the influence of the legendary Blues and Old Timey guitar masters – people such as Tommy Johnson, Mississippi John Hurt, Blind Willie Mctell, Mance Lipscomb and Sam Macgee.

Ol' Deliverance emerged from the swamps of Sandgate much too late for his own good. Despite being told "if ya keep pickin' that thing it ain't never gonna heel" he persisted and now finds himself in the company of Lil' Son Gregory. Sharing Lil' Son's passion for the great music of far gone times with much twangin' of mandolins and pickin' n 'slidin' of guitars.
