Name: The Phil Monsour Band
Brief Blurb: In 2008 the Phil Monsour Band consisting of Ian Kimber on Bass and Vocals, Graham Jackson on Guitar and Vocals, Jon Lloyd on Drums and Phil Monsour on Guitar and Vocals recorded and released “the Empire’s New Clothes” CD. The band has since performed regularly locally and interstate. Noel Mengel in the Brisbane Courier Mail describe the CD as “the most passionate album of his (Phil Monsour’s) career.....The Empire's New Clothes shows traces of his interest in folk and world music but also rocks with amp-rattling intensity” In unplugged mode, drummer Jon Lloyd picks up the Djembe and Graham Jackson swaps the electric guitar for an acoustic and the band maintains the music's power and energy while developing a laid back acoustic ambience.
