Name: Mary Brettell
Brief Blurb:

Join Mary on her nostalgic musical journey from the beginnings of her performing in the 1970s at the Brisbane Folk Centre.

In this appearance at The BUg she will be going back to her ‘folkie’ roots, singing ‘traditional’ folk songs learned from the recordings of Jacqui McShee (Pentangle), Maddy Prior (Steeleye Span), and others. There will be choruses! Bring your voices!

Mary has a deep, rich voice and during her long and varied career has sung anything from traditional folksongs to bluegrass and contemporary material, and everything in between. She will take you on a journey of reminiscence through some of the songs she has performed at festivals, on radio and on The Box (that’s TV). She will entertain you.
