Name: Giovanni Porta
Brief Blurb: Giovanni Porta, with an Italian background, grew up in Cairns and Townsville with a love for Paul Kelly and his songs. He has written a suite of his own songs about characters he has met and stories that he's experienced. He released an album in 2019, The Giovanni Theories, with some of these songs including a song about the Italian experience of being in Australia during World War 2 - Hannibal Crossed the Great Divide. It's a great tale of woe and hope and a better life.
