Name: Karen Law Band
Brief Blurb: Karen Law grew up in England and in her late teens/early 20s was performing at UK folk clubs supporting the likes of Roy Bailey, Keith Hancock and Vin Garbutt. After winning a BBC Radio songwriting competition she moved to Australia in 1995 and took her story-songs on the road, playing at major Australian folk festivals including The National, Victor Harbor and Port Fairy. For the last 15 years she has been based in Nambour on the Sunshine Coast, still writing award-winning songs and performing regularly around the coast. She currently performs in a 4-piece band with her 15-year-old son Murray on lead guitar and trumpet, Rob Greenfield on bass, and Irish singer Jenny Fitzgibbon on harmony vocals.
