Name: Bob Jones
Brief Blurb: Exploring wider musical interests, Bob Jones began seriously performing bluegrass music in the 1970s, while still appearing at major folk festivals. By the end of that decade, Bob had established a reputation as one of the world’s best bluegrass singers. In the’80s, he began turning back to his roots in folk music and again began touring regularly again as a folksinger. In a career now spanning more than three decades, Bob has performed in almost every American state, every state in Australia, many countries in Europe and Scandinavia, as well as New Zealand and a number of Canadian provinces. Originally known for his powerful and sensitive singing, Bob Jones quickly won acclaim for his intricate flat-picking and finger-picking guitar work. Bob also soon gained recognition for his superb harmony singing and arranging, as well as his tasteful mandolin playing. While exploring bluegrass and Appalachian music, Bob added the fiddle and dobro to his arsenal. He has since delighted audiences with his prowess on the bouzouki, celtic harp, banjo (both 4- and 5-string), balalaika, and several other instruments.
