Name: Daylight Moon
Brief Blurb: Vocalist Helena Bond has been singing for 30 years and more, both solo a capella, and in groups such as Talking in Tune (world music) and The Shieling (Scottish Gaelic). She also leads singing workshops with The Voices collective in Brisbane. Currently, outside of Daylight Moon, she sings Scottish Gaelic with fiddle-singer Emma Nixon.

Ross Clark comes to music after a lifetime as a widely-published and award-winning poet. He now spends much of his off-stage time composing songs and instrumentals, and communing with his fretted instruments. He brings guitar, bass and various ukuleles, as well as his distinctive vocal style, to a ukulele bluegrass band, and his own (fluid-membership) country band, in addition to Daylight Moon.

Helena and Ross formed Davlight Moon in 2011, and have featured at Brisbane venues The Beach-house, Grill’d, Folkies Old’n’New, The BUG, Bass Espresso, The Substation; and at Neurum Creek Folk, SPRUKE and FRUC Festivals, and at several Fetes de la Musique. They played some exciting accidental gigs while touring Europe in 2014, including a memorable set at the Arcadia, Portrush, Northern Ireland, on Summer Solstice. They have also jumped up for open mics at The National Folk Festival, The Illawarra Folk Festival, The Dorrigo Folk and Bluegrass Festival, and at numerous folk clubs, including several in the UK.

A Daylight Moon set intersperses stripped-back and open-hearted arrangements of lesser-known pop, jazz, folk and gospel classics along with Ross Clark’s originals. Sets often also include vocal solos and original finger-picking instrumentals. While many of their songs are upbeat, the duo does not avoid the minor keys, and delights in some quirky songs.

Their debut album, A Taste of Moonlight, appeared in August 2013, and Song et Lumiere in June 2016.

Songs of shadow and delight.
