Name: The Stetson Family
Brief Blurb: Melbourne knockabouts The Stetson Family dig deep into the bluegrass roots of folk and country music to create a distinctive style that’s a little bit mountain, a little bit high-lonesome country, and a whole lotta rhythm. With tales of murder, mayhem and the human heart, their debut EP, “Hey Sister Mary, Where’d You Get That Gun” made some of 2008’s ‘best of’ lists, including #1 Australian Independent Roots Album on BayFM’s ‘Mystery Train’. Since they formed a few of years back, The Stetsons have hit the ground running on the festival circuit with highlights including the National Music Muster, Mullumbimby Music Festival, as well as some of their music featuring in the SBS documentary Last Chance Saloon. The group’s full-length album is due late-2010.
