Name: Ewan MacKenzie
Brief Blurb: Ewan has played many styles in his musical career: rock, country rock (he won best instrumentalist in Tamworth in 1977), jazz, blues - everything but Celtic music :-). He has been a songwriter; an album producer; a session guitarist; a bar singer/guitarist; a jazz/blues singer/guitarist - his album Turquoise was Qld Album of the Year in 1995, and the CD he recorded with mate Robbie Stewart, A Patch of Blue, was Best Qld R&B Album in 2001. He has spent his life flitting between acoustic and electric playing and in 2003 he discovered the music of Django Reinhardt, to which he has devoted himself since. He has released 20 odd albums in over 40 years as a musician. In 45 minutes at the BUg, Ewan will attempt a synopsis of the above.... with Robbie, Rick Caskey and Oliver Steffen helping out.
